      A diverse and motivated group of people. Lots of personal and team growth!

      Pros

      -opportunity for personal and career growth. An authentic value of 'continuous improvement 'which plays out across all aspects of the org. I've found it really motivating. - annual meet up (Greece, Australia, Portugal). A pretty cool perk! - a truly diverse and inclusive team. A range of perspectives challenging thinking and making for better outcomes. - ability to design your own work day and find time for deep/strategic thinking - never had this before! - 16 weeks parental leave

      Cons

      -No hand holding. Float has a high performing culture. There isn't much 'hand holding' and whilst the leaders are very supportive and offer support when needed, the onus is on team members to structure their work day in a way that's productive. No one will be checking on you every afternoon to see if you've done your work. It's not for everyone and not everyone can be successful working this way. If you haven't worked remotely before, this could be a huge challenge.

      One of the rare cases where expectation actually meets reality

      Pros

      One of the greatest pros I can give on Float is that everything is tremendously transparent. From the interview process, to the onboarding process, to receiving feedback, to how to grow within the company, everything has been VERY clear. Comp package is very fair with clear paths for exceeding your number. Everyone in the company operates with excellence, with an eye toward doing better than the last thing you did. CEO is very involved in a positive way. Clearly cares about the direction the company is heading and has a clear directive on how to get there. This team listens to it's customers more than any place I've been to and clearly prioritizes the features that are being heavily asked for. Async environment is not for everyone; however, if you can clearly communicate with examples/evidence to paint an easily understandable picture, this is not an issue. Even with an async environment, everyone celebrates the work we do together. Culture is one of positivity, excellence, and continued improvement.

      Cons

      With an async environment, there are a lot of different places you have to be able to go/operate. Since you have a lot of autonomy, people won't always be available to hold your hand, so you have to figure things out for yourself. Not really a con, but just the reality of working with a global team.

      Pros

      - Lots of interesting work - Really supportive culture - Everyone is looking to improve - Colleagues from all around the world!

      Cons

      Only thing that came to mind is the equipment stipend for engineers is lower than I've seen in past companies and has no refresh, won't cover an up to date Mac which is a shame! That being said, rewards are reviewed every year, and the compensation is in general really strong
