Pros

Working at Flocabulary was a life-changing experience. They truly helped bring out the best in me and I look back on my time there with reverence. It was just an incredible time.

Cons

Too few to mention. We were in growth mode and we had to deal with the typical growing pains of a high-growth org.

Pros

- An amazing product and a constant reminder that you're making a difference in education - Collaborative and healthy work environment - Great benefits and commitment to diversity - Leadership focused on growth instead of turning a quick profit

Cons

- Collaboration can turn into unclear roles and responsibilities, although I've seen improvements in that over the past year. Still room for improvement. - Unclear reasons for internal promotions and role changes, leading to inexperienced coworkers trying to manage teams while making important product decisions

Pros

- The EdTech industry is booming - One of the very few EdTech programs that is actually cool. I've had customers ask to work here, and I've had customers ask for a selfie because I work here. - Flocab is changing classrooms for the better. Can a company mission get much better than that? I love telling people what I do! - You know how most companies act like they're incredibly unique, but they do the same thing as hundreds of other companies? You'll have a very hard time finding another company that uses hip-hop in the classroom. - The product is done incredibly well. We only use professional rappers and professional beatmakers. They seriously made a unit about the types of rocks sound awesome. Everyone in the creative department is extremely talented. - The customers genuinely love the program. - Everyone in the office is incredibly nice, smart, and great at what they do. Many employees are seriously impressive. It's easy feeling lucky being on the team. - The founders have a great vision for the company, and they couldn't be nicer. - The company has a great focus on diversity. - Great vacation policy, compensation, and benefits. Company-paid insurance! - They keep the kitchen stocked with good coffee, snacks, and drinks. - A very nice, cool looking office in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

Cons

- The EdTech industry is booming, but it can be a difficult industry to crack. You may not always know the best way to do your job. I think that's exciting. If you're the type of person that likes absolutely everything spelled out with no surprises - you may not enjoy it. - Like any startup, you may not have an idea of where your career will go next. Again, I find this exciting. If you want a super clear career path, you may be better off at keeping corporate. - The office can sound a little quiet because most employees wear headphones while they work. I've enjoyed working at companies that have light background music. Obviously, this isn't a big deal.
