Pros

- great office culture and fantastic work-life balance - coworkers and principals that genuinely care about you and how you like your work - a variety of interesting projects - many ways to be involved in the company (in office clubs and admin work)

Cons

- people are generally very busy, so there are a lot of people that will eat lunch in their office or stay in their office for most of the day - most people that work there have been employed for a long time so it can be a bit hard to break into the social culture - people can sometimes get lost in the shuffle of the new hire process

Pros

I worked there for 15 years advancing from Junior Environmental Engineer to Associate Principal. The best part about the job is the interesting projects that are always coming in the door. Floyd Snider has been able to select their clients carefully and has clients whose goals balance with the companies. The ability to be aligned with your client's values makes the work extremely rewarding. The size and scope of projects is varied and challenging which makes the day to day work interesting and encourages on-going learning and exploring new ideas. The ability to reach out to colleagues and brainstorm solutions in this type of climate cannot be understated. The size of the company and the open door policy makes it easy to interact with all the employees including the principals to express and achieve your career goals, get involved with projects that interest you and to understand how the company operates and makes decisions. Another pro is the company's dedication to its core values, from becoming a B-Corp to working with employee's needs for varied schedules and committing to volunteer days, their actions align with their words.

Cons

The work will be challenging, some clients have used previous consultants and have not achieved their goals prior to coming to Floyd Snider. This also makes it interesting and the client will appreciate the work that is done. It is imperative that employees continue to make their career goals known and be pro-active in requesting to work on projects that interest them.
