Pros

The work is challenging and keeps you thinking - it does not get monotonous or boring as there are new problems to solve everyday. Its super fast paced so there is also a feeling of accomplishment and a healthy level of stress if you can move at the same space. Flat hierarchy, I can talk to anyone share my ideas anywhere. Office culture is casual and comfortable.

Cons

If you cannot keep up in terms of pace and being sharp/quick on your feet, this will be a role that WILL overwhelm you. So if you are someone who procrastinates/overthinks and doesn't take action, then this role will be terrible for you and you will likely hate it. If you want a chill role THIS IS NOT FOT YOU. It is like a gym of some sort where you are trying to lift slightly heavier weight everyday/increase your reps everyday, so you need to have the same mindset where you are moving fast working hard and being disciplined.

High Agency and Impact Work

Pros

- you own your work, no matter what role or level - learn how to think from first principles - no hierarchy or office politics or anything like that, your work speaks for itself - while the company focuses on ERP workflows for eCommerce merchants, which inherently seems niche, the skillsets you learn can be broadly applied to other industries and roles - company cares deeply about their customers and does right by them - product first company, making the best product is at the heart of everything they do - bootstrapped mentality which meant they never did a large round of layoffs due to overhiring or anything like that, they stayed lean and were cognizant of burn rate

Cons

- it is not a 9-5, they are upfront about that in the recruiting process but it is something to be aware of as that is not for everyone - feedback is considered a gift, this means you can get the necessary feedback to improve but it also is tough for some people to adapt to that communication style. while the intent is always to make everyone the best version of themselves, sometimes it makes it can be tough to get consistent feedback

Pros

1. You learn a lot and have plenty of opportunities to grow. 2. The people you work with are all great people. Everyone is smart and cares deeply about solving real problems for merchants. 3. The in office culture is great. The team is supportive of each other, and we do a bunch of fun things together.

Cons

1. Your job won't be easy. This is not a 9-5 job, and you will likely need to work off-hours to get work done when needed. 2. You have to be comfortable with ambiguity and a bit of chaos. 3. If you don't like direct feedback, this is not the place for you.
