I started as a part-time recruiter and quickly saw the organization lacked strategic alignment and consistent leadership. Direction shifted often, decisions were personality-driven, and accountability was uneven. As I advanced into a VP of Operations role, it became clear the culture was unlikely to improve. I made a strategic decision to leverage the tuition reimbursement program and had the company pay for my master’s degree while building my exit plan. I was fortunate to approach it intentionally. Others weren’t. Many talented employees experienced burnout, favoritism, shifting expectations, and unnecessary stress without support. This review isn’t written out of bitterness. It’s written out of compunction — after witnessing years of collateral damage to some genuinely good people who deserved better leadership.
