Working for GCLS is my dream job. All of my supervisors and managers have been friendly and willing to bend over backward for their employees. Management is always improving our online resources and productivity, and it's fun to watch our value grow in the community. We have great programs for adults and children alike, and the library is always willing to entertain new ideas from employees.

Cons

The nights and weekends required in most positions, while not a real problem for me, can sometimes be draining on family and social time.

Supportive administration, Excellent managers, excellent staff overall. Departmentally, the most organized library system I've seen: incredibly organized substitution system, graphic design team and training department.

Cons

General issues you would find at any place of employment, particularly in the public sector.
