Great incentives for competent salespeople, but low base pay until you get there
Pros
All carrot, no stick. If you're a competent salesperson, there's tons of incentives and bonuses to keep you on track. The call coach reviews calls with you to help you with your approach without breathing down your neck while you call. There's a great deal of trust, I'm literally sitting here typing this review out 2 cubicles away from my manager on my phone and nobody's giving me any grief for being on the phone. (Maybe don't try this though) The pay is quite good. Bonuses every month plus commission on volume. It doesn't take long before even new people get the best leads, and once you're recognized as talented you're treated well. I'm still new but I have a lot of loans already closed and a big commission check coming. Saturdays are actually optional.
Cons
Base pay is low. If you're not good at sales on the phone, if you dont have a good grasp on mortgage concepts, its going to be hard to make money. If you're not a quick learner it could be tough to get your first deal. I came in February with no knowledge and didn't close a loan until May, and I'm a fast learner.
