One of the best conservation organizations to work, hands-down. Island conservation is deeply committed to staff wellbeing and organizational health and is doing an excellent job at it.
Staff have wonderful focus on saving endangered species, are highly educated, multilingual, and are fun to work with. It's a fantastic place to get involved in conservation, and has a very efficient business model ensuring money coming into the firm is utilized well to get conservation results on the ground: more islands restored and more species saved. With projects in remote exotic locales, the stories shared by IC staff from their work in the field are fascinating. I'm not aware of any other firm devoted so specifically to fighting Earth's sixth mass extinction, why work anywhere else?
Cons
Detractors may not appreciate the science behind the firm's methods, and it's true financing is often tight as with any nonprofit, but any company has limitations of one type or another. As a result of being in beautiful Santa Cruz, next to UCSC from which IC sprang, the company is in a high rent district.
