Pros

Key Media has a great culture that prioritises staff satisfaction and wellbeing. Management are very approachable and flexible, making staff feel supported and cared for. In terms of the day-to-day work, the company ensures that all staff receive the necessary support to do their jobs well. The company is also undergoing significant growth, which is opening the door to some great professional development opportunities for staff at all levels of the business. Having worked at Key Media for 8 years, I can say with confidence that these 'Pros' have been very consistent.

Cons

The dynamic nature of the business coupled with its expansion means there is rarely 'downtime' (a good thing in this economic climate!) and things can get markedly busy in some departments, but as mentioned in the 'Pros' section, management ensures that support is ready at hand for staff when needed.

Pros

This company is run by nice people. It has an unprecedented inclusive and happy work culture. After two years of freelancing remotely, it was a breath of fresh air to finally find a place to work which treated their staff kindly. They onboard you well with lots of policies and procedures docs. They have a buddy system in place to help you through their first few weeks. The other writers I met were all talented and good people and will help you with any questions. There is no professional jealousy or any of the usual workplace toxic cultures I have experienced in other workplaces. Everyone there makes you welcome and helps you get up to speed. As a writer, I was required to write two stories a day and run interviews with HR professionals in Australia. The work is interesting and the editors give you lots of freedom to write the material with more creative freedom than I've seen anywhere else EVER in my 30 years of working. You won't be micromanaged here. Their senior management is amazing - and they have an inspiring creative and fun vibe to them. The whole team of both senior and middle management are just good people - and they care about their staff as well as their KPIs. It's also one of the hardest working bunch of people - everyone is busy there - all the time - but the team works well together and if you feel swamped - another person will offer to help you out or talk you through a tricky task.

Cons

The security of their IT system slowed my laptop down to make it almost unworkable but once they take on contractors permanently they do send them new work laptops with everything pre-installed. Working across a number of different time zones is a constant challenge - I had a boss in the UK, colleagues in NZ and Australia and I was working remotely from Mexico.
