Pros

Working at LeverPoint has provided a lot of career and personal growth in the 5+ years I've been with the company. The type of work that we do is unique, challenging, and evolving; which is contrary to the typical accounting profession. Having spent some time in public and within private company settings, I am comfortable with saying the I've found a home in LeverPoint. - Growth opportunities- yes, this is accurate. If you are motivated and are able to get to the point of managing client relationships, you will be recognized as doing so. With that said, professional growth does not happen overnight and takes time- similar to every other professional office. - Benefits- as mentioned above, having a family requires the need for a lot of medical attention, prescriptions, procedures, etc. I am grateful for the benefits that the company provides. - Work/Life balance- everyone's definition is different. For someone that has a family at home and a busy life outside of the office, I don't find myself in a position where I miss sporting events, school events, or ability to take vacations because of my job. CPA program- we have a great CPA program that provides valuable resources, group discussions, study materials, reimbursements/bonus that makes it very motivating during the process.

Cons

Similar to all client service firms, there are times where additional time is required. Depending on the team you work on and/or the client(s) you work on, there could be some times throughout the year that require more hours to accomplish the client's objective. Based on reading some of the reviews, I think there are some clear issues with communication between managers and the team; where expectations, career path, etc. are not constantly discussed. If you aren't realistic with yourself and your career trajectory, then you will find something wrong with every professional organization you work at.

It sounds as though you have been successful in balancing your personal life and busy work life with client service expectations. As you mentioned, we believe communication is a crucial part of any successful team and organization. Furthermore, we agree that communication between manager and team, whether pertaining to career path, compensation or any other important aspects should be discussed consistently. Growing energetic company

Pros

Overall LeverPoint is a great place to work. The company has implemented many new programs including more flexibility to work from home and improved CPA program. There seems to always be an event (track day, happy hours, family picnic) that gets everyone together outside the office or at the very least away from your desk. With the growth will come some growing pains but the executives seem committed to ease the transition.

Cons

Client service can be tough for some. If you've ever worked retail, you realize the customer is always right and sometimes you have to deal with the demanding ones. During the busy periods you will work some longer hours but it's nowhere near the demands of public. If you can prioritize and focus on the tasks at hand your days will go smoothly.
