Pros

The faculty, students, and staff of Luther are a great group of people. Folks are dedicated to the mission and open to innovating and doing things differently. Salaries and benefits are surprisingly good - 10% employee retirement contribution and 3 weeks vacation right from the day you start! For the most part people seem to have good work/life balances here. It is certainly an interesting place to work.

Cons

We live in a period of significant upheaval in society and the church, and Luther is not immune to this. Conflicts erupt over various issues that can cast a pall on coming in to work. It seems that a person's experience of working here can vary a lot depending upon what team they are on. A longstanding "culture of suspicion" contributes to some people not feeling comfortable speaking their minds.
