Pros
Leadership cares genuinely about employees as individuals and demonstrates this through actions as well as policy. Everyone seems to feel genuinely respected, trusted and valued, which is a very big deal. The day-to-day work environment varies by department, but all employees enjoy at least some measure of flexibility in return for reliable performance. The company seems motivated to cultivate loyalty and morale. Many employees have been around for decades. The company values and invests in new technology and professional development.
Cons
Long-term stability is somewhat vulnerable to fluctuations in state and local budgets for project work. The office building is dated and drab with few windows. Work-related social events have been on the decline in recent years.
