- The company was in the maintenance mode for a few years with minimal growth, but the leadership made the tough calls to proactively bring back the team to startup rhythms.
- the product / problem space is very niche so you don't feel threatened by every new release by major frontier labs.
Cons
- A lot of people joined the company during the maintenance mode so the team has mixed feelings about the recent culture shifts. If you want to work hard in an early-stage startup, those changes are not a con at all, but those who liked the stability from the previous era, the company feels meaningfully different.
The engineers are very low ego, always down to help. Everybody is very friendly, genuinely enjoys working here.
Management is open to suggestions, process changes, etc. You can really make a difference here.
No expectation to work overtime, great life-work balance, unlimited PTO.
Cons
Like every startup, there is some technical debt. Some processes are still not well established. Not all tests are automated. However, all of those things are being actively worked on.
