Pros

- I love how much I've learned in such a short amount of time. I'm new to PR but not to media work, so it's been great to see where my strengths and weaknesses are within an agency environment. - I feel like I'm really listened to in terms of ideas, feedback and the type of work I do/don't enjoy. - People like to collaborate and consider new ways of doing things so every day is exciting. We don't keep to one mold or formula. Each account is VERY different and it feels like we're constantly evolving with the work we do. - I like the vetting process the agency goes through when signing on a new client. There's much thought and consideration of a brand's ethics that I appreciate. - The culture is fun as well. I didn't feel like I had an awkward phase when I first started. I felt comfortable and included from the get-go. - Nice office perks - LOVE the location

Cons

- Steep learning curve - Workweek often exceeds 40 hrs

The amazing clients we get to work with, the office building and location (not in crowded downtown and we have stunning views of mt. hood), great health benefits and office perks including, snacks, lunches, team outings and happy hours.

Cons

Sometimes the workload can be heavy during certain times of year and the work/life/family balance can be tough to manage.

Pros

The hiring process took about a month and I had four interviews. They were very thorough and wanted to make sure each prospect would be a good fit for the Maxwell culture. Everyone I met made me feel comfortable during the interviews, it felt like a friendly conversation. Maxwell offers wonderful benefits and it seems as if the company truly wants the best you for. Within the company, there is room to grow while many of their employees have been here for 5 years+, which says a lot. They have great clients in the natural foods and tourism industries such as Dave's Killer Bread, Bob's Red Mill, Pacific Foods, Kettle Brand Chips, Travel Oregon and McMenamins. While being the newbie, everyone was friendly from the get-go and made an effort to get to know you. If any questions come up, people are always willing to help their colleagues out.

Cons

Sometimes work weeks can go over 40 hours in order to get the job done. The work can become overwhelming at times, but Maxwell does a great job noticing when those overwhelming moments come and assist where help is needed.
