The Career You've Been Looking For

Pros

I've looked for a company for several years that I could find my place in and stay for a long time. I finally found it here. The company is run in an extremely fiscally prudent fashion. You don't have to worry about whether your job will exist a year from now. The companies healthcare plan is outstanding, they've gone out of their way to make healthcare something employees will never have to worry about. The work-life balance is also outstanding, no one is expected to work overtime except when onsite for a meeting, in which case even well-salaried employees are paid a generous additional daily "travel pay". Salaries are above market with much more than just an annual cost of living raise. Generous year-end bonuses. No one leaves for more money. 401k plans that the employer contributes to regardless of employee participation. Paid time off begins accruing from day one on the job. Because the company is still relatively small and growing quickly, there is ample opportunity to see your own role in the company grow quickly. Employees that go the extra mile are rewarded for going 5. Co-workers are all really good, you'll spend very little time having to do another person's work. Owners are always willing to make additional hires/shift work if one person gets overloaded. You'll have direct access to the owners on a daily basis, there isn't 10 layers of bloated middle management to take credit for your work and bog you down with pointless tasks that no one cares about.

Cons

Working for a small company can be challenging. There aren't 300 other people with your same job that can pick up the slack if you decide you don't want to come in to work. The work you're doing is also directly relevant to the companies bottom line, so failing to do a good job is quickly and directly addressed. You'll be client facing right out of the gate with some of the biggest names in the industry, so there is pressure that some people struggle with.

Pros

At MPW, we are not a machine. We are a living organization made up of people. People who are here to lead, people who are here to follow; all of us here to pursue excellence, personal growth and a common goal. Mistakes are made by leadership and team members. Every day we strive to do our best and sometimes, we miss the mark. We are the best at what we do and we strive for excellence every day. Our standards are high. We expect that individuals will give their best in everything they do and when that happens, we are all substantially rewarded. Because we are people, and not a machine, this is an environment where you can grow and learn and feel secure that you are moving forward in your career and personal growth. It is a place where individuals are motivated to success. Personal milestones are celebrated with wedding showers, baby showers and individual recognitions of success. When employees experience personal loss or defeat, that is also recognized and sympathized. I'm proud to be part of this team and of the leadership of MPW. If you are looking to join a team of professional, kind individuals and you want to work hard and grow and become the best you can be, there is no better environment. Come join us.

Cons

MPW is not an easy place to work; the standards are high. Though the expectations are clearly outlined, even in the interview process, it is not a place where every individual can succeed. However, when they do, they do so very well. The leadership of the company works hard to create an environment of excellence and this is often seen as micromanagement or over-involvement. A brief perspective change and understanding of the pressures that affect a business owner can quickly provide clarity on this. While flexibility for life's daily challenges are understood, MPW is not a come and go as you please environment. Work hours are consistent and punctuality is required. This is often a challenge for some team members to accept.
