Opportunities to create change, support others and growth in the community. Adjust as we grow, learn from each other and interact with every department.
Cons
COVID! Miss working in the office and seeing staff along with minimum site visits or interaction with residents.
Tons of autonomy. No one is breathing down your neck at Mission Housing, and our E-team will allow anyone to propose a project. This job is what you make of it.
Half Days every other Friday! (Yes seriously)
All positions are close to the mission and residents we serve. I used to work at a much bigger nonprofit developer and it was harder to get out of the office.
Caring management. Burnout is real, and we all lived through 2020. Our management really turned a large portion of their focus inwards during the pandemic and it shows.
Competitive pay.
Unlimited opportunity.
Cons
Autonomy. Seriously. Some people have trouble here because you have to be a self learner and the learning curve is steep. Management gives many people a chance, but know there isn’t a easy position here, every thing in affordable housing is difficult and if you aren’t all in on the mission you will fail.
