Pros

The people who work here care about people who need help and the leaders care about the people who work here. Seeing peoples lives get better and the stories about clients success is the best part - knowing I helped. I had heard about the terrible things people are saying on here so finally came to see and there are some horrible people who post here! I hate these sites! Don’t want to But I am speaking up now. In my about 3 years, people have come and gone - like everywhere. Those termed - should have been and some probably sooner than they were. Others who left should have done it quicker. Those are the ones saying cr@p on here. Newcap managers spending a lot of time to find new grants and access to money to HELP CLIENTS and keep people working here at decent pay, with great benefits. I mean great benefits. I pay nothing for health and dental, disability short &long term. Tons of paid time off and flexibility for my life and kids. With the stuff in Washington since January plus the COVID help is ending, people are worried about funds from grants but the CEO tells us what is happening and I believe her. Every time I have asked her questions or anything, she always has time for me and I know how much that lady works so I appreciate it. Other leaders same. Newcap can now bill for a new way to help people find places to live and we have to do things a bit different and that is stressing people. Workers need to stop worrying and complaining and do their stuff right with helping the clients with what they need and be the best for them. People who don’t work here anymore, need to get a life and go away.

Cons

Not as much pay as I would like - but that is always true and wanting more money yes. Some workers who spend time too much time gossiping and complaining. Helping people find housing they can get into and afford and keep can be hard. Some people have pasts and landlords are picky so that can be hard. Grants have lots of rules and paperwork. Thats the job but some stuff we have to do seems like it is just to make it harder on clients. Newcap doesn’t do only one thing so there is lots of learn. Leaders make more than me but I don’t want those jobs because people suck - lots of them on here!

Thank you for your heartfelt review and for speaking up. We’re incredibly grateful for your dedication to our mission and for the compassion you bring to your work every day. It’s inspiring to hear how much you value helping clients and the support you’ve received from leadership. We understand that anonymous platforms can sometimes amplify frustration, and while we respect everyone’s right to share their experience, we also appreciate voices like yours that offer a balanced perspective. Your recognition of our benefits, flexibility, and leadership accessibility means a lot—and we’re proud to offer those things to our team. We also hear your concerns. Grant work can be complex, and we know the evolving landscape brings challenges. We’re committed to supporting our staff through these transitions and continuing to improve systems and communication. Your feedback about gossip and internal dynamics is noted, and we’ll keep working to foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and accountability. Thank you again for your honesty, your passion, and your continued service. You make a difference.

Pros

To work with a team of like-minded individuals that are passionate about what we do is outstanding! People are here for the right reasons and are motivated by helping people within the communities we live and work. To work a 4-day work week, receive 16 paid Holiday's and 192 vacation hours the first year- I think I'm working less days than a teacher! And what rewarding work it is. And the benefits we receive are way better than what other employers offer. We have health plan choice, and awesome stipends from the company to pay for our premiums. I literally have no out of pocket costs for the premium and I have my family on a ZERO deductible health plan.

Cons

Because we are a non-profit, we rely on Grants to provide our programs. A con is the uncertainty of the governments position on what grants will continue. Our leaders do an awesome job working to maintain the grants we have and apply for other that align with our mission.

Pros

Ample PTO for Work/Life Balance, Ability to adjust your schedule for unexpected life events. 4 day work weeks!! Pretty standard benefits. Free dental if you submit receipts for teeth cleanings in your first year.

Cons

For a Non Profit, pay is good, but I wish it were a little higher.
