Pros

Perennial has been through quite a journey since I joined, but we've really found our footing as a team, as a culture, and with the technology we're offering. The core team is a really tight-knit group, and everyone's here because they want to help solve climate change in some way. I'm excited about where our new technology developments are going, and really think that if we play our cards right we'll be able to lead a rethinking about how agricultural carbon capture works.

Cons

The problem(s) we're working on are really tough. We're inventing new things for a new market, and some days it seems like there's just no good solution given the time and resources we have. We've been able to navigate these so far, but it's definitely not a place where it's possible to coast.

Pros

I love being able to use my technical skills to make a positive impact on the world and Perennial is the perfect avenue to do that. Everyone at the company right now is great to work with and gets along very well. It's a group of very experienced talent and it's a great environment to learn a lot from the people around you. Work schedule is flexible as well.

Cons

Working at a start up requires a lot of attention and requires you to be able to work autonomously and keep yourself motivated. There isn't much "hand-holding" so to speak. You will enjoy working here more if you are passionate about the work and have a desire to work pretty hard.

Pros

Perennial is on its way to becoming the gold standard for MRV in carbon markets using remote sensing. The industry is young but growing quickly, and Perennial is poised to play a big role. The team is extremely talented, competent, and fun to work with. I really believe in the founders and other leadership, which is extremely important when working for a startup. It is inspiring to work on such an important cause in mitigating climate change. However, even if the work wasn't important, it would still be incredibly engaging because the problems we work on are novel and complex and require a lot of intellectual creativity to solve!

Cons

Prior to closing Series A funding, the team had a lot to prove and had to work hard to do so. There will likely be some growing pains now that we are trying to expand the team, but it will be great to have more hands on deck! The industry changes quickly and the long-term direction of the company therefore changes too. This requires that the team be nimble as they adjust to these changes.
