Pros

To start..fantastic training once hired led by a very experienced clinical team. I did not have a technical back ground but came away with a strong knowledge of the industry and my products. You work on your own time. This can be bad news for some but great news for those who know how to manage their time wisely. As an outside rep you make your own schedule which just helps with daily life to-do's. Travel. I love the opportunity to be able to go city to city and get out of the neighborhood. Work hard during the day then go experience the local popular venues and coffee shops. The ability to build a carrier. The way Polymedco is structured, from the start they build you into an IAE, which builds you into an Outside rep, which builds you into a Regional Manager, which (I can imagine it gets competitive here) builds you into a Sales Director or VP of Sales or Director of Strategic Accounts. They are huge about your growth. Managment. Have you ever had a job where the managers are always slacking off? Not the case here. I thought I was a hard worker.. but dang the leadership here puts in some serious hours for the betterment of our daily hustle. They are very helpful and honestly some of the funnier people I know. Communication. If you are a little bit of a communications nerd or just generally social you will love this. Connecting with these people you try to sell to is the first step. And that part is just pure fun.

Cons

Hard sells. These are very amazing products we have to offer. But hard to sell. It takes some real tenacity to keep promoting these products to leadership of hospitals because they have a million other things going on. Keeping the fire burning can be frustrating. Organization. Polymedco has recently had a shift in how they profile accounts and gather information about clients. This is in the process of being "fine-tuned" at the moment so probably will not be a problem for long but for an IAE (my last role) it can be difficult to track where your commission dollars should be. As an Outside rep there are no problems with this.
