      Outstanding company with great culture

      Pros

      Training is thorough, and you are prepared to take on the busiest of shifts with the help of a large team. The company constantly is looking for ways to improve the work experience, and listens actively to employee feedback on all levels. If you are willing to put in the work, you are noticed and are able to have many choices as to the route you want your career to go.

      Cons

      None- after 8 years, I still would choose Portillo’s as the company I want to be a part of.

      Equal pay for unequal work

      Pros

      You may be placed on one of the easy stations. You can get as many hours as you want, you simply just show up for work hours before you are scheduled, they will find a place for you. Very fun, outgoing co-workers. The best out of the 3 jobs I have had, truly a fun environment, managers have a sense of humor.

      Cons

      I would like to know exactly what the managers in this store do. Why are there 4 on the floor at anyone one time? If you get put on one of the harder stations, expect to work your touchie off as the other half of the cook line stands around doing little no nothing. If anyone decides to be friendly and help you out, half of the time they will be corrected by management and sent back to their station, to stand around. NOW HIRING!!! There is a reason they are always hiring.

      Challenging Job

      Pay is higher than minimum wage, 50% off food discount, somewhat flexible hours

      Cons

      The company is going downhill. Corporate is taking over and is creating new policies such as the birthday cake and being forced to awkwardly ask customers to take the online survey on their reciept. Managers are rude and condescending. I would not recommend this job unless you really need money. Also, do not work closing because you will go home about an hour later than you are scheduled for, which is annoying. I especially do not recommend this job to students as it is very stressful and they will be on you about working more.
