Pros

Incredibly smart and thoughtful coworkers and leadership that are willing to take the time to explain difficult concepts. The level of coworkers pushes me to do my best work. Leadership is very transparent about the company which is refreshing.

Cons

Being such a nascent industry means things can change on a dime leaving employees to adjust very quickly which is not necessarily a con for a certain kind of person.

Pros

Rare mix of big ideas, bigger ambitions, and enough engineering talent and organizational support to actually pull it off. Everyone is excited about the work and happy to teach if you ask. The company lives in Slack, so it's a good place to work remote and about a third of employees do. Denver is a great place to live and work. Benefits are better than most startups.

Cons

Work-life balance can be hard around deadlines. Some people work all the time by choice, and it can be difficult to unplug when they're always going. Some of the founders left in late 2018 and for a while there was high turnover and uncertainty about the product roadmap. Multiple senior hires in 2019 have helped management mature and improved the company's prospects.

Pros

This is the company where I have been able to affect the most change in my life. We get things wrong, because we're new to this and this is a new space. We also get things right and that's why we're on the edge, because this is where the real change happens. We change our strategy all the time, but so did the last company I worked at where we had 1,000 employees and a multi billion dollar company. The difference here is I feel comfortable telling every member of the company when I think something is a terrible idea. They don't always have to do what I suggest and I'm not always right, but I'm a part of the decision making process. There are growth opportunities here if you want them and sometimes even if you aren't looking for them. Sometime in the next month there will be an opportunity for basically every employee in this company to do something new and different. Also got to throw in here that the flexibility is pretty awesome. Sometimes I work from home, sometimes I work from the other side of the world. As long as you can get you work done and still get to the video meetings you can take a few wild days from someplace else in the world. Final thought 逆境で人は成長する。

Cons

Work life balance. I'm excited about what we build and sometimes I forget about the rest of what's going on in the world. There is no shortage of things to do and no one to stop you if you want to keep working. I find myself answering support questions in the middle of the night, reviewing work from my team when I should be off with friends, or writing proposals for features that we just don't have time for when I should be doing anything away from a computer. No one here is going to close the computer. Without self control you will burn out.
