Pros

The people who work here are simply good people who treat others respectfully. Coworkers often become close to each other and management, and it is clear that management cares about their employees' well-being. Management is very accessible to employees, will always take time out of their day to talk if asked, and will treat issues seriously. There are great opportunities for entry-level candidates to learn about clinical research and to have some upward mobility. You will start small with regards to the things you learn and the tasks you'll do, but If you are interested in pursuing a career in any capacity of clinical research, you will learn a lot from this position, and it will be extremely helpful to put you in a good place to take on complex projects in the future. The pay is fair - not great, but not low. It's what you would expect for an entry-level position in a scientific field - it's at market price. The work-life balance is excellent; you're rarely asked to work more than 40 hrs or on weekends, and when you do you're given overtime pay. Being a small company, your contribution to the work will be noticed (which is great for you if you put in the effort, and not so good if you don't). Bad attitudes, lack of effort, and poor quality work will not go unnoticed. There is some room for upward growth, but it will not be handed out just based on time. Employees must demonstrate merit and show a desire to move upwards to be considered. Some people seem to think they should be handed promotions, raises, and extra perks (and it has led to a couple disgruntled employees - as you can see in some other reviews) but management works hard and expects their employees to work hard to earn these things as well.

Cons

work can get a little repetitive

We want to thank you for your review and we are so happy that you had such a positive experience working with us at RCTS. As a former employee, you were a valuable part of our team and we hope that you are doing well! As you stated in your review, our aim at RCTS is to maintain a work atmosphere where employees know they are part of the team – valued, respected, noticed and heard. The atmosphere is open and accessible, with interaction and collaboration between managers and employees, across all departments, as our standard. All of us have a very important part to play in the common goal of giving the highest quality outcomes possible for our clients. In terms of balance, not only do we offer a great work-life balance by having reasonable schedules, but we offer balance to employee pay by considering an entire employee compensation package. Base pay is set at market price for the area and the role, but total employee COMPENSATION from the company includes so much more than that. These additions include offering insurance plans that are 100% covered by the company…access to flexible spending account and 401K plans…a paid time off (PTO) program that cashes out to employees the balance of any unused PTO on their employment anniversaries…paid holidays throughout the year and additional paid holiday time from the company during winter holidays…. Merit bonuses at the end of the year, which have been a proud RCTS tradition for the past 23 years…yearly raise considerations based on merit…company-purchased uniforms, a catered lunch for the company every month, and off-site activities as conditions have allowed. RCTS strives to take care of its employees in numerous ways, with base pay being just one factor in a bigger picture of employee compensation that adds value to their lives and work experience with us. RCTS has a strong performance culture while maintaining a dynamic of warm, collaborative interaction. Hard work and commitment are just as important as tenure here. We provide in-house training for every job role in the company, with most roles providing opportunities for further learning, growth, and upward advancement. We make every effort to expose employees to as much learning/growth as possible within their roles and we foster dialogue with employees on how to optimize what they do in keeping with our company goals. Having said that, there are industry and quality standards that we must adhere to and because of those standards, there may be times that the job seems repetitive. Overall, we strive for RCTS to be a place where our employees like coming to work for all of the different elements we offer…fair pay, enhanced compensation, opportunities to learn and a friendly atmosphere. Once again, we are very glad that you enjoyed working with us and we wish you nothing but the best going into the future!
