Pros

Hey there! If you're thinking about joining our team, let me give you the inside scoop. First off, the vibe here is pretty awesome. We're all about teamwork, trust, and helping each other grow. It's not just empty talk – you really feel it every day. And let me tell you, it's actually fun to be part of this crew! One of the coolest things? There's always something going on. We've got this thing called "doughnut day" (yes, it's as good as it sounds), free lunches, and breakfasts. Who doesn't love free food, right? But it's not just about the grub. We've got ESOP month (employee stock ownership plan, if you're wondering), quarterly owner meetings, and even coffee chats with the CEO. It's pretty neat to feel like you're really in the loop. Oh, and if you're into getting involved, there are tons of employee-led teams. We've got a green team, safety squad, training crew, and something called the Sebago way team (you'll learn about that when you join us!). It's cool to see people taking charge and making a difference. For all you sports fans out there, we've got you covered. The company sponsors teams for softball, bowling, and disk golf. Word on the street is we're adding basketball and volleyball soon. It's a great way to bond with your coworkers outside of the office. Now, about the work itself – it's refreshing how we handle things here. Instead of boring performance reviews, we focus on supporting each other to meet deadlines and crush our goals. Speaking of goals, our COO runs this awesome annual goal-setting series. It really helps you figure out what you want to achieve and how to get there. Is it perfect? Well, no place is. Individuals that may not enjoy a fast paced work week and eager energy to grow should look elsewhere. Efforts, energy and mastery are encouraged, rewarded and advanced! But overall, I gotta say, it's a pretty great place to work. The people, the opportunities, the support – it all adds up to an experience that's hard to beat. So, if you're considering joining us, I'd say go for it! You might just find yourself writing a review like this someday.

Cons

Now, let me be clear: this isn't a place for those looking to coast by. We're a team of go-getters who thrive on challenges and aren't afraid to roll up our sleeves. If you're the type who waits to be told what to do, or not eager to advance our work, you might find yourself struggling to keep up with the pace here.

Pros

Sebago is a great place to work if you're self-motivated and enjoy using your creative muscles to help the company succeed. As an employee-owned company, every employee shares the responsibility for the collective success of Sebago. Employees are encouraged to own their work and to deliver the best outcome for their clients. Sebago is very competitive in the vast region it occupies, stretching to the Canadian border and into Maine's neighboring states, being part of some of the largest projects the State of Maine has seen. I can't think of a better place to work for a self-motivated, ambitious engineer.

Cons

None come to mind when writing this review.

Thank you. We feel the same. Policies and benefits are always being evaluated; there will forever be a fine line between benefits for employees and the cost of doing business. We strive to meet both but recognize there may be shortfalls for some. The good news is that Maine has a Paid Family Medical Leave option that will be available to all employees in 2026. More to come on that.
