shomi had a great culture and a lot of very smart people. They were just coming through the other side of a transition to agile and things were looking positive when the news came that they were shutting down.

Not that matters anymore but this is a response to the negative review attacking the management team. When this person says: "dictating which technology should use instead of letting team to decide. Waisting tons of time and effort by switching back and forth technology and platform. so many shomi idiots too." It seems like another reality, I was part of the development team and one of the things I appreciated the must during my tenure there is the freedom and empowerment of the team to decide their own future. We architected our solutions, developed and they even let us to try new technologies. To say that we were mandated to an specific technical stack is just untrue and unfair to the management team.
