For the right person at the right time, this job is awesome. If you love travel, and are self managed, this job is for you. You really have to be able to budget your time, and work well without someone breathing down your neck. If you are organized and can plan out your month, you'll find a great fit here.
All Senior Technicians, Managers, and Directors, have been promoted from within. You're not being managed by anyone who hasn't been in your shoes. It also means there is room to advance.
Field staff have a lot of autonomy and trust. Training is always available from Managers to equipment vendors.

You do travel a fair amount which can be problematic for home/work balance - or it can be a blessing if you like to see and experience different parts of a state - and sometimes travel to other states to cover vacations etc.
