Pros

- The work culture at SquaredUp is incredibly welcoming—everyone on the team was approachable and kind. - As a placement student, I felt like a valued member of the development team rather than just an intern. - Management was consistently supportive and helpful, guiding without micromanaging. - I had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contributed to real products. - Great exposure to modern development practices and tools.

Cons

Honestly, there weren't many I can think of. If I had to be picky, maybe having a slight improvement on the early documentation would help future students ramp up even faster, as the initial development setup was confusing to implement.

Nothing really that I can think of

Pros

SquaredUp supports work-life balance by offering a healthy work environment with remote and flexible working options. The culture is collaborative and inclusive, with minimal internal politics—everyone’s ideas are heard, regardless of role. Open, honest conversations are encouraged, and any concerns are proactively addressed both individually and on company wide level. Strengths are recognised, and employees are trusted to lead work/projects, making you feel truly appreciated.

Cons

Since it’s a smaller company, it can get a bit frustrating when things don’t move as fast as you'd hope—just don’t have the resources yet (maybe I’m just a little impatient!). Career progression isn’t always clear, but they give you the chance to take initiative and try new ways of working so it’s really up to you how you define progress.
