Great place to grow

Pros

I’ve worked for both past and new owners for over 8 years collectively. Nothing but great things to say about the changes that have been occurring daily from a process and business stand-point. Leadership has also implemented an ample amount of paid time off, 401K plans, and they are more than willing to get you the tools you need to succeed both on a day-to-day, and a career-path basis. Culture has also changed in the agency since new leadership has taken lead. They look to make sure people don’t burn themselves out, all while keeping the quality, and standard of work high.

Working here provides opportunity to get your hands on both large and small clients. There is a strong sense of comradery, which fosters a supportive “team” mentality.

Cons

Ebbs and flows of marketing can lead to quick turn projects and a fast paced environment isn’t for everyone.

Good Growth Opportunities for Young Workforce

Pros

If you’re looking into the company’s intern academy, consider Tattoo. The 2-year career growth path after 6-month intern program is a fairly decent opportunity if you’re just getting started in the marketing world/post-grad workforce, great opportunity for hands on experience, opportunities to learn about other aspects of marketing and collaborate with various departments. Interns also get about 3 weeks PTO, as well as a company-wide summer break and about a 2-week company-wide break at the end of the year for the holiday season. Salaried employees are offered health insurance, including dental & vision. Small agency means a plethora of avenues to grow within the company, and leadership aims to encourage internal growth. Small agency also means family-mentality — the creatives look after each other and are willing to lend a helping hand to get projects across the finish line. Great workplace to jumpstart your career as a young professional.

Cons

Quick turnarounds for projects and not enough staff to balance workload, gap between junior-level employees and leadership which causes issues in work distribution, expect to potentially work late nights and early mornings to meet deadlines, and base salary after going through the intern program is 45k (very little to no flex on this starting salary) with the goal of getting employees from 45k to 75k in that 2-year span. Unfortunately, this salary offer just doesn’t come close to competing with current job market salaries.

Thanks for the feedback. These are all legit pros and cons. We feel your pain on salary and also some of the late nights, especially early in your career. We take efforts to limit those nights, keep them from having back to back, and also refund bonus vacation days when your time sheet exceeds standard working hours. Don't hesitate to ping your manager to ask for an extra PTO day if you are putting in a heavy week. Don't hesitate to reconnect anytime in person, and help build a pipeline between our team and the other firms that can afford to pay more. We love building bridges and launching pads for our teammates. Have a great day!
