Pros

Empower is a highly focused and effective company, this means it wont be a good fit for everyone, when it comes to great companies you either fit in or you don’t, this statement is not opinion, its based extensive research in the book Built To Last by Jim Collins. This is totally fine, people are very different and so are companies, you just need to find a place you fit. But if you do fit in at Empower you will thrive. These are some of the reasons I love working here and what makes it a good fit. High agency is expected, you rarely get told how to do something, what matters are outcomes. If you like to own things end to end and take initiative then its great, if you like being given tasks, then not so much. Data driven decisions are respected and outcomes get measured, which means decision making becomes more focused and there is no space for people pushing personal agendas. It's more of a doing than a talking culture, a lot gets achieved in a lot less time than you would expect. Things don’t get slowed down by politics and decision-by-committee, you talk to key stakeholders then you get it done. Most people here are very experienced, highly effective and good at communicating. It’s a fast growing company so there is loads of opportunity, exciting and challenging work, just don’t expect it to get spoon fed to you. Solve problems don’t just complain.

Cons

None that apply to me personally
