Not worth sharing now that they are closing. They did the best they could and I'm grateful for my time with the company.

Pros

Autonomy. Respect. Flexibility. Work/life balance. Opportunities abound for professional growth. I started at UM as contractor and moved to FTE after roughly 2 years. What I have found here is an incredibly empowering and engaging place to work IF you're willing to grab your own professional growth by the balls. The people here are continually raising the bar for their colleagues and that's what makes this an exciting place to be, but if you're simply a clock-puncher looking for continual and specific direction as to how to spend your time, then this is not going to be a good fit for you. UM management and employees respect intelligence, drive, dedication, humor, and commitment. Management sees employees and contractors as human beings and treats us with dignity. The pay and benefits are highly competitive.

Cons

For anyone who says there is no career advancement here, I will say "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." It's up to YOU to make it clear what you would like your career path to look like, and then you need to be proactive and make that happen by going above and beyond what is being asked of you and by actually articulating what you would like to do. Working remotely requires self-motivated individuals who have internal drive and commitment. If that isn't you, then this is not going to feel like the right fit.
