Pros

The UA is a standout organization. They truly care about their employees as people first. Work life balance is incredibly important to everyone and with the Social Emotional Learning Department making up half the organization, it really makes sense that these values are integrated in all aspects of the work. I don't think I will ever work at another company who are so caring, compassionate, and collaborative. The HRA benefit is extremely unique to find and covers almost all of your out-of-pocket copays and deductibles. They also provide $127 for transportation (cost of a monthly metrocard) and $30 in cell phone reimbursements each month in case you are using a hotspot. Additionally they provide you with yearly professional development money that you can use to attend conferences.

Cons

Truly none come to mind, other than compensation is representative of it being a non-profit, however the salary and benefits are very competitive.

I miss my coworkers and my bosses! It was a very intimate and respectful community where I felt eager to learn. It was beneficial for myself and the high school students I worked with

Cons

Sometimes I lacked direction in what I needed to do. But resources were always readily available
