Pros

Significant changes have been made in 2022 and 2023 to invest for the future. It hasn't been easy but the culture has improved markedly. The company is relatively small and the leadership share the strategy, the tech-build details and the financial performance with the employees via a monthly vibe meeting. Great place to roll your sleeves up and learn. Not for people who like to be in their comfort zone.

Cons

All projects are taking a while to get completed. Products and marketing materials are not a ready-made package like you receive working at a bank. Often you are building a new finance program and the marketing for yourself.

Pros

Some great people to work with, and being backed by Macquarie Bank means you can add a globally recognised name to your resume.

Cons

Pay is about average. During annual reviews, it can feel like the focus is on finding reasons to limit bonuses or salary increases, often highlighting one negative out of many positives. At times, you may end up taking on responsibilities outside your role, but these efforts aren’t always reflected when reviews are based strictly on KPIs. The HR experience can feel inconsistent, with a perception of favouritism and a stronger focus on protecting the business than genuinely advocating for employees. When I left, there was no exit interview or request for feedback, which felt like a missed opportunity for the company to learn and improve.
