Pros

Honestly the most engaging L&D consulting work I've done. Past three months I've worked with a banking client on compliance training rollout, a manufacturing one on safety and skills, and now a retail customer on customer-service modules. Each industry runs training differently and you learn fast about what actually changes behaviour vs what just ticks a box. Most clients I've worked with have been appreciative — one CHRO sent us a hand-written note after a go-live, which is rare.

Cons

I averaged 8-10 nights a month outside Mumbai my first year. That's the job — every L&D consultancy I've talked to is similar — but if you have a partner who works odd hours or young kids, plan for the friction. Hybrid would help retention here and it's been raised; not sure when it lands. Good fit for someone in their 20s or with grown-up kids; harder for people in between.

Pros

Joined two years ago expecting startup chaos and got something more disciplined. The LMS codebase has real tests — I ran into multiple PRs in my first month that got bounced back because coverage dropped. That was actually reassuring. The multilingual layer I worked on shipped without rollback (touch wood). When the AI features came in, we were given real scoping time, not 'ship it Friday' pressure. Most engineers I work with are people I'd want to keep working with even if I left.

Cons

Internal documentation is patchy — some onboarding docs from 2022 are still on the wiki and we learn what's stale by trial and error. On-call rotation is informal. Senior eng hiring has been slow, which means some of us are wearing two hats longer than ideal. If you're someone who likes a structured ladder and clear next-step roles, this isn't quite there yet.

Pros

Did 18 months in BD here. By month six I was on calls with CHROs, which I wouldn't have got at my previous SaaS gig where they had me chasing SMBs. Client portfolio opens doors when you say 'Violet' — that mattered for my next move. Sales colleagues actually shared leads, which was a refreshing change from the cutthroat culture I'd left.

Cons

Fixed pay was below where similar BDEs in Mumbai HR Tech are sitting (I checked with two friends at competitors). Variable was the bulk of comp, targets stretched, and once or twice the variable got disputed on technicalities. Lead routing was opaque — I had two deal overlaps in my time. Honest take: come here for the learning if you're early-career, plan your exit around year two because the comp doesn't catch up fast enough.
