Pros

• It’s a small company, so I can clearly see the impact of my work. • Despite the fast-paced and often hectic startup environment, the company truly puts people first. I feel supported, and my managers frequently check in with me to see how things are going. • I’ve learned a lot about new technologies and functional programming. • I’ve gained a strong understanding of how important time-to-market is. Sometimes, it’s not the “best” code that leads to success, but rather delivering quickly and staying focused on the customer.

Cons

• As a small company that still relies on external funding, there’s always some uncertainty about long-term stability. • As mentioned earlier, we sometimes need to take on significant technical debt to meet deadlines, and we don’t always have as much time as we’d like to go back and improve things.

Pros

Strong engineering culture with real focus on craft - Functional Programming mastery, clean code, and thoughtful system design. Transparent processes- RFCs, postmortems, and open discussions encourage learning and ownership Globally distributed, diverse, and collaborative team—great people who genuinely care A healthy balance between product impact and technical excellence—business and engineering work hand in hand Flexibility and trust- async-friendly, remote-first culture with focus on outcomes over hours Continuous learning encouraged through brown bags, hackathons, unconference days, and open-source contributions

Cons

Fast-paced environment—not always the best fit if you’re looking for very structured or rigid processes Like many growing startups, priorities can shift quickly
