Job description:

An architect is a licensed professional responsible for designing buildings and structures that are functional, safe, sustainable, and visually appealing. They meet with clients to understand project requirements, budgets, and timelines, then develop design concepts, detailed drawings, and construction plans using architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools. Architects ensure that designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards while coordinating closely with engineers, contractors, and other construction professionals. They may prepare cost estimates, select materials, and conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure that construction aligns with approved plans. Typically holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture and a professional license, architects combine creativity, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and project management abilities to guide projects from initial concept through final completion.
