      Avoid Working Here

      Gsa (guest sales associate)
      Former employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      I cannot give even one

      Cons

I would avoid working here at all costs. The culture at this place is horrible through and through. Not only were the majority of the people that worked there (I'm talking both retail and corporate level) incredibly crude, constantly on a power trip and conniving, but also tone deaf and disregarded POC unless if you were famous. They also put way too much pressure for you to meet goal for a company who does not even work on commission and get paid a garbage hourly, and on top of that they make their sales go so insanely high that it is quite impossible to reach so good luck getting a bonus. Which is quite laughable especially when you have managers running around every morning explain this is our sales goal, and these are our numbers as if that affects me. The only culture about this company is greed and whatever is profitable. (If I could give this place a 0 out of 5 rating I would especially on diversity and inclusion because I dealt and witnessed a lot of racism)

If you value your mental safety, stay away from here

      Store manager

      Pros

Discount and free clothes every so often.

      Cons

I have never experienced such exhaustion and mental torment in any other company than I have with alo. There’s no clear direction on anything, systems and process are a constant work in progress and yet you’re held to a higher standard, lots of public shaming, constant harassment on your day off (and when you’re on PTO). This company needs several years to get their processes and people in order, they have the highest turn over in management that I’ve ever seen (and it’s all people who have been working for less than a year). Are the clothes great? Absolutely. But do yourself a favor and just be a customer, not an employee…to be quite honest, knowing now how people are treated, I don’t even recommend being a customer.

      Worst Company

      Anonymous employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

New wardrobe every quarter and 50% discount

      Cons

My experience with Alo has been deeply disappointing. The company is plagued by a toxic culture, where managers often exhibit arrogance and self-serving behavior. Instead of leading by example, they frequently patronize and belittle employees, creating a mentally draining work environment. This has led to a significant turnover, with many employees leaving within just a few months. Alo's primary focus is on sales goals and pushing their overpriced sneakers, rather than fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace. Unfortunately, this extends to discriminatory practices, particularly against people of color, further exacerbating the negative atmosphere. The lack of core values and genuine leadership makes Alo a challenging and disheartening place to work.

      Who Really “Fits In”?

      Sales and service associate
      Current employee

      Pros

      Employee discount. Wardrobe. And snacks.

      Cons

I have 2 years of retail experience under my belt and this might be the worst one. The managers are nice and inclusive but the leaders (and visual lead) are not. They are a clique and will boldly exclude you from conversation. Almost like being ostracized or shunned because you don’t fit their mold. I have been made to feel very uncomfortable working here.

      Pros

      Cons

Misleading hiring practices regarding compensation • Hostile and passive-aggressive management • Unrealistic sales expectations regardless of foot traffic • Constant surveillance and micromanagement • Poor product quality relative to price • High turnover rate • Low pay for a “luxury” brand

      Pros

Free clothes every 3 months, new launches = free stuff, 50% off employee discount. That's about it.

      Cons

Shove shoes down your throat, continue to hire people who don't know what they're doing. Allowed consistency bullying & hate crimes to be committed even after HR & DM was informed. Current DM is horrible & has no idea what she is doing. All of my previous coworkers detest the place. Also a spending limit as an employee.
