How are the career development opportunities at Barchester Healthcare?

Staff on the ground/in the homes can feel like family when you work with them 24/27. Lots of staff turnover so plenty of opportunity for career progression

Its all about money even if its at the detriment of care. I've seen lots of managers go, if they don't fit the look or are friends with the higher management. If you want a job that makes you stressed then Barchester is the one for you.

I enjoy working in Barchester because it provides career development, VQ qualifications for further education, a good work-life balance, and social hours.

Everything is fine, nothing to complain about.

Supportive, progressive and resident centered. Always looking for ways to reward staff better and recognition for the excellent work they do.

Inadequate staffing, resulting in inadequate care of residents, poor shadowing and induction, culture clash, quarrels, working with fear, poor payment for amount of work been done.

Nothing much. Any cons can be easily work out with the managers

I have worked for Barchester Sherwood Court for 10 years, starting my employment as HCA, 12 months later I became a Senior HCA, moving to the Administrator Assistant role and as of recently to the Administrator role. Barchester gave me the opportunity and encouraged me to move up the ladder for which I am truly grateful.

I am the well-being champion of the home, not just to staff and residents but also to relatives - no designated person/s to look after my well-being
