Hi there. Oh, it's rare for us to get feedback from one of our engineers. Glad to hear that it's a good working environment in IT. We are trying to have closer collaboration with our Japan team. So, for those engineers who can communicate effectively with the JP team will have more opportunities to move up in the company in the future. Hope that makes sense. Pros

-Flexible working hours and the ability to work from home is a major plus, especially for those with other responsibilities. -The training materials are well-structured and professional, helping both new and seasoned trainers deliver effective lessons. -The pay, while not the highest, is relatively better than some other ESL platforms. -There’s a large pool of students, so opportunities to teach are generally steady.

      Cons

The KPI system is highly dependent on subjective student ratings, which can be affected by factors beyond a trainer’s control. Even strong performance doesn’t guarantee good ratings, which affects income. -There is little transparency or appeals process when deactivations or performance warnings happen. -Trainer support feels minimal, and concerns raised by trainers are often ignored or dismissed. -Work-life balance can be tough to maintain if you're trying to earn a stable income, as it often requires long hours. -The CEO’s public responses to trainer feedback have at times felt dismissive and lacking empathy, particularly with comments like, “If you don’t like it, leave.” This suggests a lack of accountability from leadership. -Limited career growth opportunities for long-term trainers.

      Pros

Flexible Work Schedule: The online teaching setup allows for a convenient work-life balance. Ideal for those who prefer remote work. Supportive Work Environment: The company provides training and materials, making it easier for trainers to deliver lessons. Cultural Exchange: Interacting with Japanese professionals offers a unique opportunity to understand Japan's business culture. Punctual Payment: Salaries are paid on time, and the payment process is straightforward.

      Cons

Limited Career Growth: There are few opportunities for promotion or salary increases, making it less ideal for long-term career advancement. Strict Lesson Guidelines: Some trainers may find the teaching methods too rigid, limiting creativity in lesson delivery. No Employee Benefits: As an independent contractor, there are no health benefits, paid leaves, or job security. Competitive Pay but Low Incentives: The compensation is fair for beginners but may not be competitive for experienced trainers.

Thank you for your feedback. I hear where you're coming. As trainers, you have the flexibility to work when you want and as much or as little as you want. However, you don't get the benefits and promotions that regular employees get because you're not an employee; you're an independent consultant. Having said that, for those trainers who excel, they may be asked to join Bizmates as an employee. So many of our Human Capital employees started off as trainers and became employees. Although these positions are rare, I hope we can offer more opportunities like this in the future. Hika Ito CEO, Bizmates Philippines

      Cons

      1. Concerns About the New Evaluation System The newly implemented KPI 1 appears to be unfair, particularly to trainers who have consistently maintained high performance scores. Unfortunately, there was no prior consultation or notice given to trainers regarding these changes, which has caused confusion and concern among the team. 2. Overemphasis on Client Satisfaction Without Trainer Support While we understand the importance of being client-oriented, it sometimes feels that the needs and welfare of trainers are not equally valued. Bizmates trainers are known for their high level of competence—something that even clients have acknowledged, especially in comparison to other ESL providers. Many trainers also bring unique skills and experiences to the table, which deserve recognition and support. 3. Lack of Open Communication with Management Trainers often feel that their voices are not heard. Despite following procedures and providing supporting evidence in cases of unfair client feedback, decisions consistently favor the client without proper consideration of the trainer's side. This lack of support can be discouraging and affects morale. 4. Unadjusted Compensation Amid Rising Costs While Bizmates was once known for offering one of the most competitive rates in the industry, many ESL companies have since adjusted their rates and provided additional benefits to trainers. Meanwhile, Bizmates trainers continue to shoulder expenses such as internet, electricity, and equipment without subsidies. Despite inflation and the rising cost of living, trainer compensation has not been reviewed or increased. To provide perspective: according to current data, a Filipino household requires an average of PHP 700 per day to meet basic needs. In this context, the current PHP 230 per hour rate is no longer as competitive or sustainable as it once was.

-Most student are well-behave -You control your time. -Engaging and informative Lesson Materials -Can take long vacations -As long as you have the passion and skill to teach you can apply for the job

      Cons

-No Holiday Pay -No benefits -You have to handle your own personal tax -Your career growth is like a stack of cards, one mistake (Complaint, System Inconsistency) can cost months or years' worth of hard work (your salary can also decrease) -Complaints can heavily outweigh the Satisfaction rate from 1 to 10 -Customer and income first kind of company -Customers can make bold claims without any proof, and you have to dispute it with your own, so you have to prepare and record every lesson. -Their system expects you to be perfect (Even if something beyond your control happens, you will still get penalties if you fail to comply) - A kind of company that would encourage hiring than to retain their veteran talents because they pay less to the new ones. -No advantage or protection for Veteran Trainers in times of Mistake or complaints
