Pros
- animal friendly, work from home opportunities,
Cons
Run from this place! I dread every day I come to work. I have four separate supervisors in my department and each one has different information or instructions. How is that possible??? No one is EVER on the same page.
My supervisors, along with the other senior management at Brandeis, refuse to provide any type of clarity or reason for their decisions, especially after the layoffs this summer. It was handled extremely poorly. Any type of questions asks to seek some type of clarification is responded with suspicion, anger, and veiled threats of losing your job... e.g. "you're lucky to still even have a job here considering others were laid off." That has been repeated to me at least 3 times when asking clarifying questions in regards to departmental changes.
If you work here, prepared to be gaslighted at almost every opportunity. I'm not joking. You will also be forced to do things NOT in your job description without any sort of training or guidance - you're expected to just figure it out. If you don't do it the way they like it, it's your fault. If you ask questions, they hate you. If you don't adhere to literally anything they say or do, your daily work life will abysmal.
People have been here so long that the possibility of seeking help from HR is out of the question. Everyone is buddies with each other and will absolutely crap on you regardless of if you have information. I've seen staff members have legitimate proof brought to HR to seek help, then get in trouble for it, then have an investigation brought against them with completely fabricated evidence by their managers, then get fired.
I cannot wait to leave this awful place.
