A friend suggested four different companies for CDL school. Premier Truck Driving School under CR England was the most responsive, quick, convenient, easy process to follow. All of my questions were answered, and I never felt that I was being lied to or being taken advantage of. They were the most professional. The school is the fastest that I am aware of, being only two weeks long. I wanted a license WITHOUT any Manual Transmission restrictions which required extra learning because although I have driven manual vehicles my whole life, for the test one must demonstrate double clutching and correct down shifting process. This might actually be a little more difficult because I had to change the muscle memory associated with small vehicle clutches. After the first week, I started to feel concerned, because it appeared that I was not going to be getting additional drive time, yet I had paid $500 more than the students that were obtaining a CDL with the manual restriction. I shared my concern and my needs WERE MET! I was given extra time to work on my shifting. Several days I was out driving with Roy and Cowboy long after the usual end of the day. I felt very grateful that they responded to my concern and it paid off! NEW CDL HOLDER NO MANUAL RESTRICTIONS RIGHT HERE!!
Cons
Sometimes there are a lot of students, don't be afraid to sort of throw elbows (symbolically, not physically!) to get what you need! Be assertive, but not overbearing in asking for more opportunities to practice backing, or whatever weakness you need to work on.
