Dystopian Workplace Practices Toronto Employment and Social Services
Pros
There are a dozen offices across the city you can work from. Best thing is that they will assign you an office close to home. Hours are great typical 830 to 430 and no shift work! Some of the staff who have been there for years really care about their work. When the going gets tough its nice to be around people that snicker at outrageous mismanagement at the higher levels and keep doing their job well and take care of people.
Cons
Really anti-Christian and you get reminded regularly through some heavy regular DEI training. Tied into the Residential School controversy. For the Christmas holiday message from the top boss we get nothing about Christmas. But Muslim holidays yes and usually with Jewish messages within the same message as a second shout out. This year we got a happy Hanukkah which is expected. But also a happy Kwanzaa. Yes the controversial American holiday that started in the 1960s by a founder that committed very bad crimes against women. Black people at the office are laughing saying who observes that? Followed by something along the lines that this season is about peace and inclusivity. Really? Telling the Christian majority what this season is about? What about other religions you missed? Seems like a poor attempt at trying to sound inclusive to black people but instead insulted everyone including black people. Bodhi Day (Dec. 8): Buddhist commemoration of Buddha's enlightenment. Pancha Ganapati (Dec 21-25): A Hindu festival for Lord Ganesha. Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti: Celebrates the birth of the tenth Sikh Guru (dates vary).
