What is health insurance like at PLDT?

      PLDT reviews

Stable & secure source of Income but stagnant growth at career

      Junior data analyst
      Former employee
      Makati City
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      1. PLDT Inc. offers numerous bonuses and excellent health benefits. The health benefits provide you with supplements and vitamins that you will need whenever you are tested for any possible sickness and also covering all hospital bills you might incur. 2. The yearly increase is guaranteed for all employees within the ranks, regardless of individual performance. For management or executive increase is still guaranteed but the amount depends on the yearly performance of the company. 3. The working environment is pleasant, despite the internal politics within the company.

      Cons

      1. It's not a favorable start for new grads as they offer a low initial salary. 2. As mentioned in the pros, the yearly increase for ranks had an adverse effect on the performance of employees, leading to a decline in motivation to seek improvement. (Though this is my own opinion and observation) 3. The internal politics are deeply rooted; without connections within the company, promotions or career growth may be challenging unless you make a truly exceptional impression on the executives. It's worth noting that family and friends often take priority in such situations.

      Pros

Health benefits are top notch. Generous bonuses if the company performs well. A lot of smart people!

      Cons

PLDT is an old company and some practices need to be modernized.

Decent Local Company to Start Your Career

      Csa - customer service associate
      Former employee
      Davao
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good benefit coverage, insurance coverage, healthcare coverage at a good hospital (Davao doctors), bonuses every January, February, March, June, November, December. Yearly increase minimum of 3k PHP per month.

      Cons

Career ladder. Office politics. Toxic work environment. Company culture to teach you to get loans through their COOP. Most young employees are already tied to big debt (100k minimum) because of the available loans you can easily avail. A lot of old employees still not retiring and not really functional at all, they let the new hires like us do the hard work. Unfair treatment.
