Solid company to work for with interesting work and good benefits.
Pros
- Good medical benefits. - A little over two weeks paid time off with growth over career. - Yearly profit sharing / bonus based on site performance. - Friendly coworkers with helpful team leads and supervisors. - Interesting work with a lot of problem solving. - Safety oriented company. Management takes safety concerns seriously. - Decent amount of optional overtime offered.
Cons
- Subpar tooling provided in work areas, often using makeshift or patchwork tools to even function depending on the work cell / job. - Floor engineers are understaffed and overworked, difficult to get support from them when needed. Jobs can sit for weeks before an engineer can look into them. - To expand on the above two points, a lot of important day-to-day tooling for the manufacturing floor is either worn out or barely hanging on via literal tape or plastic stubs. Leads will try to resolve what they can but if a tool requires an engineer or anyone above them then it very often gets ignored due to the sheer volume of work engineers have already. KAIZAN's get performed but not often enough. - Part quality, operator efficiency, scrap and job delivery time are all adversely affected by the above. This also makes for unnecessary stress on machine operators as they'll spend far more time troubleshooting workarounds to a problem that would be solved with having functional tools. - Local network and servers tend to lag or even go down at random intervals.
