They underpay compared to even regional firms.

Constantly micromanaged on all projects by manager and site lead, including tasks that were very much 'busy work'; Too large of a company for anyone to show interest in new ideas or process improvement from those who are actually in the weeds of the work completing the tasks; Never felt like a strong team environment; Manager also constantly shared her dissatisfaction with her role, which did not make me want to stay. I was looking for a new role within the first few months of employment.

The first two technical interview rounds were completed quickly within four days.

After two technical rounds, they collected my documents, informing me that I cleared the second round and was selected. They mentioned that the HR round would take place within 2-3 days, but it didn't happen, and they didn't inform me when it would. When I followed up with HR, their response was that the position is probably on hold. Isn't it the HR's responsibility to keep me informed? This is really frustrating.

Please ask thoughtful questions during the hiring interviews to make sure you get an accurate picture of the work you will be doing. I strongly recommend working at a big four, strategic or other national/international consulting firm rather than Protiviti. The work is much more rewarding and career prospects are so much favorable elsewhere. Please do your homework carefully before joining Protiviti.

1. Protiviti is a temp firm, not a consulting firm. You will be doing staff augmentation work (i.e., back-fill), not learning and providing consulting advice 2. The work is absolutely mind numbing 3. No career prospects outside Protiviti (discuss this with a reputable head hunter before joining Protiviti) 4. The Managing Directors are very bad at business development and making sales 5. Layoffs every year lead to very low morale
