Pros
No pros, all cons. There wasn't a single good thing about working there.
Cons
This place is the most toxic place I've worked. Someone reported the company to the labour board when I first started working there, and I thought it was laughable that the founder said you could speak to him about anything, since he was probably the reason the company was reported.
The founder would routinely throw a fit in the office and threaten to fire people, and he wasn't lying. Many people were fired.
The company had an issue with wanting to be everything and do everything online, not because it made sense, but just because. And because there was always high turnover, nobody knew the logins for any online accounts. That was another thing the founder would flip out about. One time, the founder asked why his Facebook account had the wrong gender (due to high turnover and no one managing logins) and suggested that he should change his gender, since that's what everyone was doing.
The founder once asked a contract employee to fire unpaid interns because he wasn't making any money. The contract worker said she couldn't do that, so he said, "either you fire them or I fire you," and right after he said that someone called him so he picked up the phone and said "someone is coming by to pick up the car so give him the keys to the Bentley".
The founder didn't understand how digital marketing worked, and would call unqualified family members who were also small business owners to come into the office and tell us how to do digital marketing incorrectly.
He once asked me if there was a "button" to get more engagement on social. I tried to explain how that didn't make logical sense, because if it existed, everyone would use it, and everyone would struggle to get an edge over everyone else, which is how it is without that "button". He didn't believe that, so he called another employee who proceeded to tell me her modelling page always gets engagement. I didn't even have the heart to explain why that's different or why the engagement would be higher. But anyone with a basic understanding of social knows why a modelling page followed by a bunch of thirsty dudes will get more engagement than a retail store.
