What is working from home like at Solventum?

Decent pay and work life balance but will never promote or give raise

      Ux designer
      Former employee
      Minneapolis, MN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Really friendly people, work moves slow so you can have a great work/life balance, WFH is very flexible, benefits and bonus are pretty great

      Cons

Even if you ask, you will never get a raise or job grade bump. The only way is to apply for another job within the company (switch teams) or to leave for a few years and come back. I thought I was paid really well until I left. Can be boring at times for a designer - very monotonous and ticket-taking type assignments. Lots of page layout wireframing or building in Adobe EM, rarely designing something new. Not much transparency when announcements are coming, portions of company are being sold, and layoffs can be sudden.

      Pros

WFH work from home , nice insurance

      Cons

Poor communication, no Equal treatment, poor IT ; micromanaging

I am proud to work at Solventum! Great to work for a company that focuses on healthcare and makes our lives better!

      Pros

      * Good training overall * Professional co-workers. All the people I work with on my team are professional, very helpful and nice to work with. * I enjoy working remotely. The Team I am on embraces this and I never feel alone even though I work from home.

      Cons

      * Spin-off start up environment; this is good but also has it's challenges. * Fast-paced environment; again this is good but can be challenging. Must be able to be nimble, adapt easily and be open to change. * Putting better processes and structure in place; challenging at times but also love to be in on the ground floor of seeing this organization grow and evolve.

      Understaffed, overworked, low accountability

      Manager

      Business outlook

      Pros

Work from home flexibility, no micromanaging

      Cons

Not a well resourced organization, very lean across many functions, working level feels overwhelmed and overworked as too many changes going on organization wide. Poor accountability as no one really wants to take ownership on issues, many discussions can go on for a long time with no conclusion as waiting for direction from global/leaders.

      Great Job!

      Insurance verification specialist
      Former employee
      San Antonio, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Position was work from home. I had great supervisors and there was zero micromanagement.

      Cons

There was a lot of realignment of teams and I ended up with 3 different supervisors in less than a year.

Exciting environment with potential restructuring challenges

      Anonymous employee
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

It is a relatively spinoff, so it is pretty fast-paced and exciting. Additionally, there is flexibility to work from home completely if you prefer.

      Cons

It is going through changes as it tries to become a top healthcare company, which is generally a good thing from a strategy standpoint, but I recommend that you confirm to the best of your ability that your prospective role is a part of the long-term changes. You don't want to join and in be impacted by restructuring in the short-term.

      Business outlook

      Pros

      Flexability, work from home, PTO

      Cons

Layoffs every year I have been there. Lack of communication and follow through from what leadership says vs day-to-day reality.

      Great Experience thus far!

      Business outlook

      Pros

Supportive Leadership: The management team is approachable and genuinely cares about employee development. They provide regular feedback and opportunities for growth. Collaborative Culture: The work environment is inclusive and encourages teamwork. Colleagues are friendly, and there’s a strong sense of camaraderie. Innovative Tools: Solventum invests in the latest recruitment technologies, making the recruitment process efficient and streamlined. Work-Life Balance: The company promotes a healthy work-life balance, allowing flexibility in scheduling and remote work options.

      Cons

At times, the workload can be overwhelming, especially during peak hiring seasons. However, this is typical in recruitment and is manageable with good time management.

      You're better than this.

      Pros

Work from home was nice. You might as wel be at home when you're working all the time.

      Cons

Awfully abusive management and leadership create an incompetently hostile work environment creating a terrible work life balance.
