What is a typical working day like at Staples?

      Staples reviews

      Horrible

      Print and marketing associate
      Former employee
      Clifton, NJ
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Not micromanaged since management never helps this department.

      Cons

      - No lunch breaks - Never enough coverage, so your odds of being by yourself every shift are 9/10 - Customers screaming and spitting on you if their order is not finished or done incorrectly.

      You can find better

      Copy and print associate
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

-Good working hours (no night shifts)

      Cons

-Bad management -Angry and dumb customers -Focus on profit rather than the well-being of employees. -Bad pay for what you do and how much they count on you (basically modern slavery)

      Average

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Solid hours, good coworkers Break times when you wanted

      Cons

Overworking past your scheduled shift, no overtime

Good vibe, but felt overwhelmed with shipping department amazon returns mainly

      Copy and print associate
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

-Great management vibe -Easy Printing Process if you are able to get through all the training and understanding

      Cons

-enough hours, but when you pick up a shift to support call out or something, manager will remove a different shift to make sure you don’t work more. - when you request more hours, they don’t have enough to give after 2 weeks of being new. - printing department is busy, but your forced to work the shipping and amazon returns department which is always busy and stops you from working the main copy and print department.(They said they would hire someone for that department to support and let us focus on completing printing projects and time sensitive tasks, but they never did, different Staples said the same)

      prepare to be overworked

      Print and marketing supervisor
      Former employee
      Catonsville, MD
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

the real gift is the friends (coworkers) we meet along the way.

      Cons

i started working at staples part time, and soon after was called in to pickup shift, maybe around the 2 week mark after employment which led to me working full time. i quickly became the supervisor and ran the print and marketing area to record sales and yet my hourly salary was still lower than the starting pay for my role. The only time i was offered more money the day i put in my two weeks.
