Best manager in the world—supportive and gives autonomy. Salary is decent for the area, benefits make up the difference. Parking is good.

Upper management has department politics that slow things down. No remote work option. Career advancement is limited in small department. Raises are union-based, not performance-based, so salary growth is slow. State procurement is slow.
