What is the salary like at The Pokémon Company International?

Great benefits and salary, plenty of opportunities for growth, wonderful managers who are understanding and recognize that you’re a human being with feelings and personal issues, fantastic coworkers, and an amazing work environment.

I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

You won’t feel the want to talk about it in a few years time. •Looks good on your resume (if people are unaware of the reality behind company doors) •Good pay, great benefits, decent office space. •They bribe the employees with lots of “free” product and company “perks” (they find a way to charge the employees for these things; check the small print and your paystubs).

• Racist, high-school toxic environment. Bullies included. •The odds are against you if you are not Asian. •Management and promotions are determined by popularity, not skill or qualifications. •The rules are not applied equally to all employees. •Workflow is outdated and a complete mess despite the many years of complaints and asking from the workforce. •They have a strong legal team that will defend the lack of ethics and will stab you on the back the first chance they get. • Work here at your own risk.

The company cares about work-life balance, has great benefits, and has fun family and holiday events.

The pay is not as high as its' peers and raises can be extremely low.

Free cards and food. Nice office. Insanely large bonuses on top of decent pay and benefits. Great work/life balance (until they forced return to office).

The person who posted about racism was correct. If you're not Asian (Japanese), you will never rise to a position of real influence at the company. More importantly, take a look at the Pokemon games over the last decade. How have they been? Stagnant and consistently poor in quality? Decreasing even in quality? That's reflective of this company. This company is a great place to work if you want to be stagnant in your career and strive for mediocrity. They make infinite amounts of money, so there is no desire to improve or even be good. It's just a great place to keep a seat warm, make a pretty good amount of money, and have to do virtually nothing. For some, that's a dream. For others, it's just a really sad situation. Also, they're back to mandating in office work even though they thrived during the remote work environment. It's just the toxic Japanese work culture taking over again.

I'm beyond overjoyed with my role here! I have supportive management who allows and trusts me to practice my tradecraft. There is a lot of opportunity to work on interesting improvements that will safeguard and drive the business forward. Great tools and resources + access to relevant training. Everyone I've met and interacted with has been both kind and collaborative. I'm overjoyed with the diversity of our employees and love seeing people in the lunch area playing a quick round of Pokémon. Thursday lunches and company celebrations are the best! I once again have a healthy work/life balance! This is the first company in a long time where I can understand and identify with their products and services. As such I'm highly motivated to learn as much as I can and to be an ambassador to the brand. The benefits are the best I've ever had and the 401k match is phenomenal. Some reviews talk about slightly lower base salary. I'm not sure I agree with this opinion, but this is more than made up for at the total rewards level. (base + bonus target + 401k match + benefits + remote work stipend + perks, etc.) The office is really fabulous. It's light and bright and HAPPY. Employees proudly share their love of Pokémon through plushies and figurines. I love going in to the office 3 or more days a week and am energized by my interactions with people.

From my perspective there are no cons. I feel respected and I'm treated well.

Excellent pay, benefits, and perks. The company really looks out for its employees while staying true to its goals and future as a company and brand.

It’s a large company so there’s more disconnect than smaller ones between employees unless you proactively join an ERG or some other employee-organized groups.
