How are the career development opportunities at Vivint?

Vivint has a great career ladder with a lot of opportunities for growth. Developers are given freedom to propose and implement new ideas, grow their skillset, and stay up-to-date with the latest and greatest.

There is A LOT to learn when you start at Vivint about the 100+ microservices that run the backend and the documentation is lacking. Asking questions and talking to other engineers is your best bet at getting over this hump.

Vivint is investing a lot in customer experience and operational improvements, and most of the leaders are generally aligned around this. They generally treat employees well and offer a lot of opportunities for growth.

The leadership need to be more aggressive in addressing and investing in resolving tech, operational, and data governance debt. The downstream impacts of not patching these holes creates a lot of problems for people internally and customers externally.

worked with some talented and fun people. perks (occasional jazz tickets) were nice and nobody fussed to much about takin time off.

BOYS CLUB. women dont get leadership roles and they don't get promoted. men get promoted for being bros with leadership. marketing makes things look exciting and they throw a lot of parties to distract you from the manipulation and straight up lies. do not fall for it and do NOT work here. leadership wants you to be in it for more than just a paycheck (but why else would anybody go to work?) and tries to make employees feel grateful to the company like you owe them something. zero growth opportunity unless you threaten to leave. dthey always have a BS reason for why you can not get promoted. when i finally left after many years of mistreatment they hired multiple people to take my spot so suddenly they had this budget for additional salary? everybody is underpaid and leadership is out of touch. hr is corrupt and does nothin to help employes who ask them for help

Lots of career growth and very fast paced.

Pay could be more competitive compared to the rest of the technology industry.

The workload is really heavy the more you move up.

You get to work with some of the highest caliber engineers and management in the smart home industry

Management spends very little time helping you with any type of career development. Burn out is a common issue among Employees. Promotions and raises are very few and far between Company benefits package is horrible
