      Pros

Lovely people, good benefits, and great opportunities to grow career-wise.

      Cons

The values in the department I worked in were highly performance-driven which can pressure towards over-achieving. It felt like working overtime was a patch of honor.

Check the location first before employment

      Business outlook

      Pros

-Opportunity to work fully remote. -Well qualified people. -Offices in many countries, gives people opportunity to engage. -Based on your sub company, you can receive bonus.

      Cons

-No specific, dedicated training for the job or further advancement opportunities. -HQ has more motivated people then other offices, remember it is Norway. All locations are ruled internally, so they have their own norms, do not expect Scandinavian mindset elsewhere, especially in Central Europe. -They are still going through cost cutting for almost two years now, even after lay offs, no budged for anything. Although the company still earning money, they give it to shareholders instead of investing on employees or business development.

Great culture, but leadership and communication need work

      Senior associate
      Former employee
      Madrid
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Yara has a strong company culture with a supportive and positive work environment. It offers a great work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, and, in some areas, good opportunities for learning and international assignments.

      Cons

Career development can be unclear, with limited advancement opportunities in some areas. Leadership practices vary widely—some teams feel like a one-man show or suffer from biased management. Workload can be heavy at times. Most concerning was the handling of the recent layoffs: a long, painful, and emotionally draining process stretched over many months, with vague and repeated promises of decisions 'in the coming weeks' that never came, creating unnecessary anxiety and uncertainty.

Was a good place to work at, NOT anymore

      Software qa engineer
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Last 2 years, there have been no pros. Only one maybe - fully WFH Prior to that it was a really great place to work at. Oh and surprisingly HR was nice - smooth on and off boarding. I don't think they really care about the exit interview but still a smooth process. I'll give them 10/10 for that.

      Cons

      1. No clarity, No vision. I mean the company does have a vision to "Feed the world" but it's only on paper. 2. Build products which aren't really useful 3. Wayyyy tooo much micro management. like a lot. lot lot 4. Updating jira tickets >>>>>>> Actually delivering work 5. Constant org restructuring 6. Meeting meeting meeting, aluha meeting 7. Features are built to be scrapped 8. What promotions? 9. What Salary hike? is that even a thing? 10. They value contractors more than FTEs. 11. Required to attend late night releases 12. Agile team and scrum masters have been given a lot of authority. I think they confused what their role is. I'll put in the definition of a scum master here, hope one of them reads it and stops annoying the team; "A scrum master is a coach and a guide who ensures their team understands the scrum framework and its values and practices" 13. No career path. PS. I know all i have listed are cons but that is what the company has become. Talking about the past isn't going to help anyone.
